Hydration

Celery is 95% water and contains potassium, anelectrolyte.

However, no specific studies have evaluated whether celery juice specifically helps with hydration.

Further research is needed to see how various celery preparations (extract, juice, etc.)

may impact specific inflammation-related health outcomes.

Blood Pressure Effects

A review of several studies explored the effects of celery consumption on blood pressure.

These studies examined different methods and amounts of celery.

Further studies are needed to explore optimal amounts and types of celery preparation.

However, the studies found a significant link between consuming celery in all forms and reducing overall blood pressure.

Research has explored luteolin’s effects onblood sugarand diabetes management.

Luteolin is a flavonoid found in significant amounts in celery.

Consumption of foods high in luteolin may positively affect blood sugar management.

Regarding nutrients, celery juice is highest in carbohydrates, followed by protein.

It is low in fat and relatively low in calories per serving size.

These nutrients provide numerous health benefits (as seen above).

The fiber content in celery juice can be increased by consuming unstrained celery juice.

Fresh celery juice can be kept refrigerated and covered for three to four days.
