Differences in Dosage
Another difference between Victoza and Ozempic is the frequency of injections.
This is because Victoza is eliminated from the body faster than Ozempic.
This is described by the drug’shalf-life, which is roughly 13 hours for Victoza and seven days for Ozempic.

Because of this, Victoza is givenonce dailyand Ozempic is givenonce weekly.
Which Is More Effective?
Because of its longer half-life, Ozempic is more likely to remain at stable concentrations in the blood.
By contrast, Victoza is prone to fluctuations, particularly if doses are missed or delayed.
These factors translate to differences in thehemoglobin A1C (HbA1C)levels.
The cost of generic Victoza can be expected to be lower.
No generic version of Ozempic is yet available.
They are not commonly used for first-line treatment unless you are at high risk of a major cardiovascular event.
