How Are the Types of Arthritis Different?

The word “arthritis” literally means “joint inflammation.”

Inflammation causes joint pain, swelling, and stiffness and damages the affected joints over time.

Osteoarthritis, for example, develops due to normal wear and tear from aging or joint injury.
