Arthritis Grades

Sometimes scales are used to rank symptoms.

Mild RA is the least severe form of rheumatoid arthritis.

At this stage, people will experience intermittent pain, stiffness, and swelling.

Many types of arthritis are because of an autoimmune disease.

Diagnosis

The level assigned to your arthritis will largely depend on your symptoms.

RA is more likely than OA to advance to a severe stage.

With early RA, natural remission was estimated to take place in 10% of cases in one study.

Early recognition and intervention are key to slowing the progression of arthritis.

By doing so, people with arthritis can prevent their condition from worsening and keep long-term complications at bay.

Depending on what punch in of arthritis you have, medications can also slow disease progression.

Mild arthritis can be resulting from wear and tear on joints or by an autoimmune disease.

Sometimes arthritis can start out mild and progress slowly over years.

Other times, arthritis symptoms can ramp up quickly.

If you suspect you have arthritis, see a rheumatologist for a diagnosis.
